The origin

Inspired by a traditional Filipino textile practice, Piñatex® was created from the vision of transforming pineapple leaves (an often underutilized resource) into new possibilities for design. A material that brings together craftsmanship, innovation, and purpose.
The Process
Turning Potential into Purpose
El proceso comienza con la recolección de hojas de piña que permanecen en el campo después de la cosecha. Sus fibras son extraídas, transformadas en una malla no tejida y posteriormente convertidas en un material ligero, resistente y versátil.
La composición incluye:
- 80% fibras de hojas de piña recuperadas
- 20% biopolímeros vegetales
Social Impact
A Material with Purpose
By giving new purpose to pineapple leaf fibers, this material helps create additional income opportunities for agricultural communities while making use of existing resources, without the need for additional land, water, or crops.
